One cloud away from the sky was written by Andrew Rudd towards the conclusion of a poem about travelling. He was leading our Cafe Church last night and shared a number of poems with us. Some brought a smile to your face, others made you think, but his skill like many good poets is to stand at an angle to the world and ponder in a different way. It was an enlightening evening but the above line became the most poignant for me.
It doesn’t matter how hard life may be, or whatever situation we find ourselves in, we are still only one cloud away. One cloud away from the sky, from light, from potential, from hope.
All we need to do now is learn how to fly!
