Perplexed and Confused

I found this poem Confused by Marjorie Dobson very helpful this week as some very close friends had some difficult news to cope with. It will also be helpful on Sunday when I tackle Brian D. McLaren’s hardest section of Naked Spirituality, the season of perplexity. This is the season of spiritual survival when you feel that you are in a void and the familiar bedrock of the past has been removed from under your feet. I have empathy with the Psalmist this week when they feel that God was illusive. Yet ultimately God was in the void, and still is today.
