The Harvest Of Wisdom

The great oak wasn’t created in a day, but some can live in excess of 800 years. In that time much will have happened below its branches, becoming a bastion of stability in an ever changing world.

I was in a meeting last night preparing for some theme preaching, where a senior member of the group graciously shared her wisdom with us. Her knowledge of the bible was exemplary, and her insight gleaned from a back catalogue of experiences through life was wonderful.

In this season of Harvest where we give thanks for the produce all around us, perhaps we should give thanks for senior saints in our midst as well.

Base image by Ian Downing and the prayer was taken from a John Birch Celtic Liturgy, both via Twelvebaskets.
