Praying Hands

My service this morning is about making a daily connection with God through prayer. As one example we will be making prayer beads to help each of us see prayer as part of the daily routine and discipline. After all none of us think about brushing our teeth or feeding ourselves, and prayer doesn’t have to be any different. It was Mother Teresa that said,

If you want to pray better, you must pray more. Prayer enlarges the heart until it is capable of containing God’s gift of himself. Ask and seek and your heart will grow big enough to receive him and keep him as your own.

Even the simple prayer “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me” that I referred to in Red Letter Christianity said throughout the day is a way of connecting with the Divine.
