1.4 billion people in the world live below the poverty line according to Christian Aid. In order to raise the profile of their plight the charity are inviting people to take the “Live Below The Line” challenge. You are limited to spend £1 a day over five days for your provisions. That needs to include all the food and drink needed for breakfast lunch and tea. You are not allowed to dip into your store cupboard and the money saved is given to Christian Aid for their ongoing work in places such as Sierra Leone.
This challenge could be taken up by a family in order to stress that we cannot take anything for granted and should be appreciative for all that we have. I’ve blogged about poverty a number of times before, and I’ve included the links to previous entries worth revisiting below.
