Cross Talk!

Words spew out in grief like rats from a sinking ship. A cacophony of anger, sadness, loss and denial.

Words of abuse were hurled at Jesus on that day by Centurions, Pharisees and even a fellow condemned man.

Yet the words above don’t belong on a cross… they never did. They belong to our praise and wonder of Him, and the extravagant love shown.

Words are insufficient to compete with that love, but the final verse of a Charles Wesley hymn go some way to expressing it.

Then let us stand beneath the cross,
and feel his love a healing stream,
all things for him account but loss,
and give up all our hearts to him
of nothing think or speak beside
my Lord, my love is crucified
