“Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.” Proverbs 20:15
I understand the pursuit of something that is beautiful in both form and function. I also admire jewels that define a moment in time or proclaim a sentiment. Yet knowledge or wisdom far surpasses physical jewels. The knowledge that Proverbs talks about sits with you for eternity, exceeds fashion, and will bring contentment and understanding to life.
Yet the knowledge alluded to in Proverbs isn’t the accumulation of books or academia, however good that is. The Old Testament sees knowledge as a comprehension for the presence of the Divine. The bible as a whole sees an understanding of God as the number one priority in your life, then everything else will slot into place. Not a bad jewel to seek out!
