In the Remembrance Sunday service this year I’m exploring the journey of ordinary people and war. Countless people sacrificed much in the pursuit of justice and peace. They are the unsung heroes from previous and current campaigns who rarely make the history books but gave greatly.

What shall we pray for those who died, those on whose death our lives relied? Silenced by war but not denied, God give them peace. Words John Bell

In our poppy wearing this year perhaps we will have an opportunity to remember that the heroes looked like you and me. They are not forgotten.
