I appreciate the “Prayer of the Day” slot on the Methodist website. It usually includes two prayers, one established from the history of the church and one recently written. Check it out with the link at the top of my page. Each day that you click on the link you will find two new prayers. I’ve given you todays as an example.

O Lord our God, you rule over all things and you accomplish all things.
You never remove your hands from your works, nor ever shall. Guide us, we pray, with the power and the wisdom with which, from the beginning, you have loved and made all things; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Julian of Norwich (1342-1416)
God of the sprinter, the stroller, the struggler,we pray for the Church in India as she runs a marathon with the marginalised:
let her move swiftly as she supports dalit and adivasi (tribal people);
let her walk beside women and girls, striving for equal rights;
let her be found next to all who are unable to move away from caste violence and discrimination; that together they may reach their goal of empowerment, where the prize is a new social order, and kingdom values of justice, integrity and gender sensitivity will prevail. Amen
