Park Bench

I met up with a friend today who is involved in ministry for mutual support and encouragement. On our walk we came across this park bench. It’s not going to win any awards for the crude way that the plank is plonked on top, but a creative use of two tree trunks all the same.  The root system is intertwined creating one solid base. Somehow that is symbolic of our friendship and support, the common experiences have fuelled our growth and development. We sat on the bench for a few minutes looking out over the Dee to Wales.

Shared experiences are a rich nutrient for relationships throughout our life. To know that a friend has experienced something similar to ourselves can be most helpful. I certainly came away from the experience energised and uplifted.
