Bible Energy

This image was taken from a display I recently put out in church. The context was a biblethon weekend where the bible was read from start to finish over a period of four days. People from the church and community all played their part in reading scripture. However in order to generate some interest during the event various displays were spread around the room.

I wanted to display that the bible isn’t just a book that is on the end of your shelf propping up the rest, but is a vibrant energy source. We need to plug ourselves into its power and therefore it needs to be read. I’m well aware that the energy within it can be used in a negative way, for example to discriminate some people. Yet that is no reason to not read it.

I’ve kept the bible with the power socket in and in due course I will display it again with sockets going to other items in order to stimulate further reflection.
